Collaborative Workshop on Enamelling Between Two Schools of Kathmandu University

On 24 February 2020, Department of Art and Design from School of Arts in collaboration with Department of Mechanical Engineering from School of Engineering held a workshop dedicated to topic “Enamelling” with 10 participants. The participants were divided into five groups each from different discipline, Engineering and Arts. The program was a part of Art-Engineering workshop series which was started in 2012. The attempt of merging two discipline with different background deliver significant benefit.

The workshop provided a basic overview on Enamelling in copper sheet. Two different types of Enamelling, 1) Industrial and 2) Jewellery were briefly introduced and basic process of Enamelling was practised among the participants. In five days long workshop participants worked together to create a workpiece with different individual parts and finally enamelling it.
