Mr. Abishek Kalfle's Masters Thesis Defense

I would like to sincerely thank the Design Lab for giving me my first professional learning experience. It was here that I learned to apply engineering knowledge to real-world challenges, including designing a 3D-printed prosthetic arm for an individual with an upper-limb amputation. That experience inspired me to pursue engineering with purpose. The practical skills and guidance I gained at the Design Lab became the foundation of my career. After graduation, I worked for five years in the hydropower sector, and I am now pursuing my Master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems in Germany. I am especially grateful to Professor Pratishtit Lal Shrestha for his mentorship, encouragement, and support. The Design Lab will always hold a special place in my professional journey

By working on research-grade projects—like assistive device development—using **CAD and rapid prototyping**, I was treated as a valued contributor rather than an observer. This culture of constant iteration still defines my professional design approach today; for any student seeking to master applied engineering, this lab is the gold standard.
