Technology Transfer on the Development and Operation of a 3D Printer using Easily Available Resources and Enabling Community Schools for the Establishment of Makerspace

Funded by University Grants Commission(UGC) Nepal
(2023-2024)

This project focused on empowering community schools in Bagmati Province, Nepal, to establish makerspaces using 3D printing technology. The initiative provided hands-on training to five schools, enabling participants to build and operate a robust, low-cost 3D printer prototype using locally available resources.

Each school received a 3D printer as a “seed device” to kick-start their makerspace. This approach aimed to foster local innovation, enhance STEM education, and promote creative problem-solving by demonstrating the potential of community-led digital manufacturing.
